Home Networking
The question of whether to choose a wired or a
wireless network is still a pretty simple question.
The answer depends on how you intend to use the
network. If you have a wireless laptop that you take
back and forth between home and work, then a
wireless connection is a must. But if you want to
keep your computer files private, or want to watch
high definition television and listen to a
house-wide music system, the only way to go is a
wired network and its underlying structured wiring.
Combining wired and wireless could be the best of
both worlds. You could use a wired network for your
personal computers in your home, and use a wireless
laptop for convenience. In addition, networking
wallplates can have the ability to offer a wireless
access point that can be added by simply plugging

Structured Cabling Outlets
Select outlets with our standard
colors of white, ivory, almond, and black; or
select wallplates with one of the special
finishes. Either way, they’ll fit the décor of
your home.
Hanging Telephone Outlet - allows
connections for two (2) telephone lines.
Telephone & Networking Outlet - allows
connections to four (4) telephone lines and a
home network.
Multimedia Outlet - allows connection to
cable television, satellite, four (4) telephone
lines, and a home network.
Surround Sound Outlet - allows for two
(2) connections to cable television, two (2)

addition, the infrared technology allows you to
control your DVD player, satellite receiver,
digital cable box, or any other audio/video
device, and all your televisions.
High Definition Digital Satellite Panel -
includes a 21–inch satellite dish and a
multi-switch that takes the high definition
satellite signal and distributes it equally to
televisions throughout your home.
Off–Air High Definition Television (HDTV) and
FM Reception Panel - includes a hidden
digital antenna for off–air HDTV and FM
reception. Reception is dependent on the
location of your home, and actual channels will
vary.
